Chose a Business Name:
At the outset, you should decide what to call your business. It may be your own name, especially if you are a sole trader, eg 'Bill Blogs - sign writer'. You can decide what name to go with and perhaps a have a logo designed around the business name, or perhaps a theme. TIP If you intend to have a website to promote your business, include Key Words about what you do in the domain name. For example, you are a Locksmiths based in Birmingham called 'Youngs', dont have a website called www.youngs.co.uk. Far better to have www.locksmiths-birmingham.co.uk.
