Copyright protection in law is a generally accepted principle designed to prevent the copying of original artistic or literary work without the consent of the creator.
Copyright protects the creative effort and is automatic. Copyright exists as soon as a work is fixed in any way. For example, by being written down, or in the case of Thisworks, by our effort to create a design or designs.
The breaking of copyright law is potentially serious, being a criminal offence.
Thisworks reserves the right to pursue full redress where we believe our copyright to have been breached, and as copyright owner, sue the infringer for damages.

All the designs as displayed on this website have been designed and created by Thisworks or its subcontractors. As such, no design may be reproduced, copied, or transmitted in any form whatsoever without the express written permission of the copyright holder, in this case Thisworks or its approved agents.

For the purposes of this website, and all design/creative work produced and/or supplied by Thisworks, the term ‘design’ will be as described on the UK Government backed home of UK Intellectual Property on the Internet;

All designs created and/or supplied by Thisworks, whether purchased or not, are ‘non exclusive’ in that copyright will always reside with Thisworks. It is therefore forbidden, even when a design has been purchased, to re-sell any, all, or part of these designs to a third party. You may however, use any, all, or part of these designs in your company’s artwork, literature or other printed material as you see fit.
Thisworks reserves the right, at all times, to display these ‘non exclusive’ designs on this website, our printed promotional literature, or any other place we see fit.

Overview
It is important to understand that Thisworks operate as a ‘third party’ and do not publish, nor book advertising space, on behalf of our clients. Designs are created in ‘good faith’ and approved according to client instruction. No design is allowed to be released to a client until final approval has been sought and an accompanying signature secured to ‘sign off’. All designs are delivered to the client, or to an address as advised by the client.

Thisworks cannot be held liable for inaccuracies, omissions or errors contained in any designs displayed on this website. All Brand names, logos, and trademarks were authorised by clients at the time of origination, and as such, responsibility for authenticity remains with the client.
In the case of Images, when supplied by Thisworks, these have been approved on licence or are ‘Royalty Free’ images purchased by Thisworks.
In the case of Images supplied by clients, it is the clients responsibility to ensure that all legal requirements have been satisfied prior to the origination of any design. No responsibility will be accepted by Thisworks in relation to legal claims caused by failure to satisfy these requirements. This applies to all designs displayed on this website, regardless of age.

It is solely the clients responsibility, at all times, to ensure that the inclusion of all Brand names, logos, and trademarks, whether supplied or requested, are fully authorised.
In the case of Images, when supplied by Thisworks, these will be approved on licence or are ‘Royalty Free’ images purchased by Thisworks.
In the case of Images supplied by clients, it is the clients responsibility to ensure that all legal requirements regarding copyright ownership and/or permission have been satisfied prior to the origination of any design. No responsibility will be accepted by Thisworks in relation to legal claims caused by failure to satisfy these requirements.
In all cases, it is also the clients responsibility to advise us of any particular legal requirements that may apply to the Country(s) you reside or operate in.

Honest, Legal & Truthful
Because Thisworks creates designs in ‘good faith’ and in line with client instructions, we rely upon clients to ensure that designs contain nothing that is in breach of the law, and is at all times, honest, legal and truthful.

Hosting & management
(This section is only applicable if Thisworks or our Agents are arranging hosting of your site on your behalf.)
Your website will be managed by Thisworks and hosted by a chosen Hosting company in line with your requirements.
We use only professional Hosting companies who provide excellent reliability, performance and ‘up time’. However, Thisworks cannot take responsibility for any downtime or failure of service that may occur, or subsequent consequences.
We operate in good faith with our Hosting companies but have no control of any kind over their services, and in the event of a failure we can accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss of business or harm to reputation etc due to any downtime, failure or disconnection, howsoever caused.
Your continued Hosting is dependent upon all the terms as stated above in relation to copyright observance and your site being honest, legal, truthful and devoid of offensive material such as pornography, spamming, virus proliferation, libellous or obscene matter. This list is not exhaustive and Thisworks reserves the right to withdraw Hosting if your website is found to be in breach of these or other reasonable constraints. As a point of fact, to date Thisworks has never found itself in a situation where removal of Hosting has been necessary, however we reserve the right to protect our reputation by association.
Thisworks will also require that your site carries a link to Thisworks.co.uk in the form of our logo appearing at the foot [ or other reasonable position] of your Home Page, as acknowledgment of your webmaster.

Domain Name Registration & Management
Thisworks will, where a client requests, pursue registration of a chosen URL [or domain name]. The URL will normally be registered with the clients name as ‘Registrar’, and Thisworks [or its Agent] as ‘Registrars Agent’. This will allow Thisworks [or its Agent] to deal directly with the chosen Hosting company in relation to managing changes to Hosting and Domain details etc. The client has, of course, the option to decline Thisworks [or its Agent] becoming ‘Registrars Agent’ and to take sole control of all management. We should point out however, that this will render Thisworks [or its Agent] incapable of carrying out clients instructions in relation to matters of Domain management as the original Domain supplier will only deal with officially named agents/owners.
